When Screen printing on polyester there are a lot of things you need to watch out for. You can have dye migrations happen when screen printing on polyester. What dye migration means is when dye particles move from the fabric into inks leaving an unwanted tint of color to the ink. But there are several different ways to avoid dye migration. Dye migration tends to leave a Red tint to the ink. Another thing with screen printing polyester is when you go to cure it you have to watch the temperature you are curing it at because the polyester materials can melt if the temperatures are too high. Polyester is one of the most challenging materials to screen print on.

Even though it may be a pain to screen print on polyester it can still be done! The best way to do this is to use an under base. An under base is where you would put a white layer of ink down before printing any other colors. Also you can use an additive in the inks so they are less likely to dye migrate. Companies also make low bleed plastisol inks that can be used when screen printing on polyester.
