What is 4 color process printing you may ask? Well it is an image that is created by using 4 different colors known as the CMYK color. The C is for Cyan, the M is for Magenta, the Y is for Yellow, and the K is for Black. With these 4 colors you can create a whole array of different colors. With the mixing of specific pigments in particular percentages will create a whole range of colors. When inks are angles just right and printed over each other with the corresponding ink colors it will give an awesome effect.

When creating a 4 color process printing you use a series of little dot like when you are looking at a photograph in a newspaper and you can see dots of varying sizes and angles. This is also known as halftones. When printing using smaller dots more white will show threw which will effectively create a lower percentage of color. When printing using larger dots less white will show threw and the color percentage will be less.

When you are working on your 4 color process printing and want a very detailed image you will want to use a higher thread diameter in combination with your mesh count. This also causes less ink to push through the screens. When the thread diameter is lower the more ink will push through the screens causing less detail in the image.

4 color process printing is the most widely used and cost effective color system that commercial printers use. It is also significantly cheaper than toner based printing especially when printing in large quantities.

So if you are looking to save some money but also want an awesome and detailed printing you should go for the 4 color process printing.  If you have questions or you are interested in starting a four color process printing order, please give us a call (908) 806-8337 or email us.
