Discharge Printing Technique

Do you want custom printed garments that feel soft to the touch?  Are you tired of plastisol prints that are too stiff for your lightweight garments?  Why not have your garments printed with the discharge printing technique?  If you haven’t heard of the discharge printing technique before, let me enlighten you on this amazing decoration method!  Discharge printing is a specialized water-based ink that has an added discharge agent in the mixture.  What does the discharge agent do?  The primary function of the discharge agent is to remove the existing dye from the garment so that it can be replaced with your desired color instead.

The discharge printing technique sounds like magic and even as you watch it happen, you still won’t believe your eyes.  The ink goes on clear and after passing through the dryer the ink activates.  When the garment comes out of the dryer your print will be revealed!  The application is just like standard screen printing, but the difference is in the ink.  Since discharge ink is a water-based ink, your print will have a beautifully soft ‘hand’, which means you will barely feel the ink on the garment.  After a wash or two, it’ll feel like the print has always been a part of the garment!
