Large Format Screen Printing is any screen printing on fabric, metal, cardboard or other media that exceeds 18″ x 23″. Most screen printing providers have a maximum screen print area of 14″ x 16″ or 16″ x 18″ and this makes a lot of sense, the average t-shirt design doesn’t generally exceed 10 inches in width or 14 inches in height. However, when it comes to Large Format Screen Printing, the dimensions start to get up there.
Companies that are interested in oversized screen printing are generally interested in sizes that start at 30″ and go up from there. When screen printing all over a a t-shirt, wrapping around a t-shirt, or screen printing on non-clothing items like screen printed table cloths, the size of the logo and design often exceed 23″. We also screen print large on fabric panels that are then cut and sewn into garments.
Large Format Screen Printing also helps us when we print custom made bandanas. Typical bandanas are 22″ x 22″ and with a 20″ x 20″ print which is what we consider an oversized print. Most screen printers that max out at 18″ have to leave a 4″ blank border which doesn’t look like a classic bandana.
