All Over Print Shirts

All Over Print Shirts

One of the hottest looks in the market today is the look of the All Over Print Shirts that you see on markets ranging from tween to teen and even 20 somethings.  This All Over Print Shirts style became popular in urban markets but has sprung into main stream retail.  Any major fortune 500 retail store is carrying this style.

There are two methods that garment printers are using to accomplish this look, the most popular is dye sublimation.  Dye Sublimation also called dye sub, is a method where special inks are fused into the fabric of the garment, typically t-shirts and the resulting image is part of the fabric with no feel to it.

The second method of creating All Over Print Shirts is traditional screen printing, but used with a large format screen printing press.  Screen printing is the process of using plastic based inks that are printed through silk screens and onto garments.

Choosing which style of All Over Print Shirts printing to use, depends on the look and feel that you are after in your finished garment.  The advantages of dye sublimation are the eye popping colors, all over look and the “no feel” result of the print.  The disadvantages are the cost, the high minimums and the fact that each garment has to start out white and must be made of polyester.

Wide format silk screen printing has many distinct advantages that include lower costs, lower minimums and major flexibility on garment fabrics and styles.  The disadvantages however are overall print size, color availability and finding a screen printer that has the appropriate equipment to complete your All Over Print Shirts work.
