Embroidery Shops

Embroidery Shop

Embroidery shops have been around in the United States for over 150 years. You won’t ever have trouble finding an embroidery shop. In fact, there are hundreds of companies that offer embroidery in every state. Taking this a step further, most of the hard work of embroidery is in the design stage. Since most embroidery equipment is automated, embroidery work has become a button push business.

So if there are embroidery companies everywhere, and if it’s not that hard to do, why is it so challenging to find a high quality embroidery shop that can do your work?  Let’s review the top reasons why it’s hard to find a good embroidery company.

Top 3 Reasons Why It’s Hard to Find a Good Embroidery Shop

#1. Embroidery Shops Are Busy

You rarely see an embroidery shop that isn’t busy. That’s a great thing for them, but it’s not so great for you. A busy shop is going to be running their machines for 8-10 hours a day, in a single shift. Some embroidery companies work on the weekends because they are so busy. A busy embroidery business isn’t going to have the time to take on new clients. Most embroidery shops won’t call back new customers, because they are just so busy with the work that they have, that they can’t take on anything new.

#2. They Are Too Small

The embroidery business has a low barrier of entry. For reasonable payments, much less than a monthly car payment, people can get into the embroidery side business. These companies work during the day at their daytime job, and then moonlight with their embroidery side gig at night. As a small 1 or 2 person embroidery shop, with limited equipment, these companies are often too small to take on more than a handful of clients. When new customers approach them and they are already busy and overwhelmed, they often turn down the work, or they accept it and deliver it very late.

#3. They Are Too Big

The opposite of a small embroidery company is one that is too big. There are mega embroidery companies in the United States. These companies operate hundreds or thousands of sewing machines. These companies are so big that many of them run 2 shifts every day and on the weekends. While you can often get a great price from companies of this size, good luck trying to become a customer unless you are ready to sign an annual contract and bring them hundreds of thousands of products to sew each year.

These mega companies have to keep their machines running and often can’t stop to take your order.

How To Find The Best Embroidery Shop

Finding the best embroidery company to complete your project will come down to a combination of a few factors. The shop has to be big enough to meet your needs, but not so big that it will be hard to get in with them.

The embroidery company will have to be responsive and have good communication. As a new customer, you’re going to want to explain all of the details for your order. Remember, a new embroidery company that has never worked with you before, is going to have to ask a lot of questions so that they understand your requirements.

The company that you choose is also going to have to be available to do your work, provide high quality output and deliver it in a timely fashion.
