Sublimation Shirts

Sublimation Shirts have become very popular in many markets.  The process of sublimation is not new, and in fact became very passe until recently.  With large companies like Under Armour, Nike, Adidas and others igniting the fire for 100% polyester performance fabrics, Sublimation Shirts jumped in popularity and can be seen all over the world on athletes and regular people.

The vast majority of the print broker clients that we work with are surprised at the wholesale costs of Sublimation Shirts.  Having been use to prices for wholesale screen printing that fall in the range of $.90 to $3.00 depending on quantity of items and colors involved, Sublimation Shirts fall in the wholesale range of $9.00 to $15.00 depending on percent ink coverage.

In addition, the only volume discounts of scale are on the garment itself not on the Sublimation Shirts printing.  Unlike screen printing that can produce hundreds of shirts per hour, sublimation shirts are printed one at a time and typically twice (front and back)

The process of selling Sublimation Shirts to end users often involves expectation setting well before the design phase of the shirts begins.  Sublimation Shirts retail for between $65 and $85 so a wholesale cost of $30 to print both sides is not out of line.
